Give yourself grace, sweetheart.
When we set a goal for our progress any small hiccup in that journey can seem world ending. I promise it isn’t.
As a young woman, I viewed every mistake as a category five storm in my life. It didn’t matter to me how big or smart the mistake was. I made it, I was to blame.
I was trapped in a storm of my own making, a prison constructed of self doubt and feelings of diminished self worth. I created a shell around me that erased anything positive I’d done, leaving me with only that glaring mistake.
Do you want to know how I got out of this cycle? I ALLOWED myself to receive grace from myself, for the first time in my life. No, I didn’t coddle myself. I reframed the way I viewed that “mistake”. I used grace as a key to free me from the trap I had created. My life had balance again.
Forgiving yourself can be a huge obstacle, but with practice you can free yourself too. No mistake is unrecoverable. Not one.
